Fab Four fans in the mid-Sixties could keep track of the lads by writing relevant information on their Beatle calendars Wednesday morning at 5 o'clock as the day begins…or Friday night (no suitcase). Several schedule-style choices would allow you to plan for critical upcoming dates with the band.

One interesting calendar was a type of 'salesman sample.' NEMS's license included a blank section reserved for the customer (business) to print personalized information. The sales pitch read as: "Product or service ad printed here," "Your AD HERE…will put you out in front with the BEATLES," and "Your imprint here (slogan)" with information (address, phone number, city, and state). The 10" x 12" complimentary calendar version (from mid-1964 to December 1965) was made of sturdy white cardboard with a monthly tear-off page. It showed the band in their collarless suits against an orange background. The Louis F. Dow Company made this calendar. Printed on the item were "Originally made in Great Britain," "Litho by Louis F. Dow Co., U. S. A.," "©1964 NEMS Enterprises, L. T. D.", and "F-121 Beatles Direct-On Mount".

The sales pitch material to potential vendor customers included an advertisement: "Yours free with any sized order…large or small. Full living color. Actual size 10" x 12". Beatles autographs. Shows school year."

Dow would go to extraordinary lengths to satisfy a customer if necessary. Here is an example of them personalizing the poster but leaving off the calendar.

Another 1964 calendar version was available on glossy paper (11¼" x 19¾"). It featured a large group photo of the band in a doorway (including facsimile signatures), with a small-type calendar 'tear-off page,' glued to the bottom center. This calendar had a starting page of March 1964 and went to December 1964 because it wasn't available until March. Some of these calendars had short biographies of each Beatle at the bottom of the month pages (and a note about "How To Write The Beatles c/o NEMS"), along with two drawings of the band – John and Paul on the left, George and Ringo on the right. Printed at the bottom was "NEMS Enterprises. London, England".

The 1966 calendar had Paul and George on the left and Ringo and John on the right. There were musical notes along the side and graphics across the top. It also had printed "No. F-120 – Beatles Art Mount Calendar."

Fine Arts Calendar (the orange Louis Dow) made available sales kits for calendars. The material was 14½” x 19½” and came in an envelope containing six calendar sizes, along with pricing and order forms.

Louis F. Dow Company

The NEMS agreement was with Louis F. Dow Company. The date of the agreement for the manufacturing license was February 26, 1964. The initial term of the license was "5 years" for "Calendars, Lithographic Posters, Murals," with the distribution territory listed as the "World."
